Burntwood init will be introducing Futsal to Burntwood young people on Friday 26th February,
8pm - 10pm at Chase Terrace School.

If you would like to join in the Friday night Futsal festival FNFF then put a team together of same age members, you can have as many as you want, even though its five aside you can have as many subs as you like.

What is Futsal?

  • Began in south American countries, Uruguay and brazil
  • Played on a indoor pitch
  • 5 a side
  • 2 x 20 min halves
  • With a hockey size ball

Win a trip to Sweden - Youth Media Summit


The Institute for Global Ethics UK Trust is planning to take 6 young people (18-25) to Sweden, 14-18 June 2010 to represent the UK at the World Summit on Media for Children and Young People. You will be trained in Facilitation and Leadership Skills, lead 4 workshops for the Global Youth Council and facilitate the creation of a Global Youth Media Charter. All flights, accommodation and food included. To win the chance to be one of those 6 young people please let Global Ethics know in any media format (short film, photo, animation, graphic, poem, letter, article, mosaic made of chocolate peanuts) why you would like to go!

Young Leaders Needed!

Are You 16-25? Do you want to make decisions that will influence a UK wide youth programme? Then the YOUTH LEADERSHIP TEAM NEED....... U!

Big Challenge is a UK wide competition for 16-25 year olds who have ideas to change their communities through exciting projects. The Youth Leadership Team give out a £60,000 prize fund every year to support the best project ideas. The Youth Leadership Team make key decisions about the programme and support the Big Challenge project winners. They are a group of inspirational young people who come from all over the UK, from a variety of backgrounds, with a range of skills and experiences that make up a diverse and lively group! Their advice ensures that the Big Challenge focuses on what young people want and need today!

The deadline for applications is Friday 12th February.

 writing SURVEY: Family Life

4Children is currently undertaking The Family Commission national inquiry. The commission is chaired by Esther Rantzan, and they will be producing a major report on Family Life in 21st Century Britain due out in the autumn. As part of the inquiry they want to find out young people’s views on family life. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and asks a range of questions on family life and on family/community life in general.

Take part in the Children’s Commissioner’s web survey

The Children’s Commissioner for England has launched an online survey to find out what children, young people and adults think about its website  www.11MILLION.org.uk. By taking part, you could be one of three lucky winners of £15 gift vouchers to spend at HMV! The Commissioner would like to know whether children, young people and adults are happy with the site and how it could be improved to make it even better. The web survey only takes a few minutes to fill in and is completely anonymous. To enter the prize draw, visit the last page of the survey to send an email to the Commissioner’s web team.
